Joey Gonzalez

PASTOR

Joey serves as the Pastor of Grace Bible Church NYC. In 2018, he graduated from The Expositors Seminary. After serving as the Minister of Music for over 10 yrs, Joey was ordained by the elders of Grace Community Church in January of 2021. Joey also currently serves as Dean at Manhattan Christian Academy. He and his wife, Kari, have five children.

Until a second elder is ordained at GBCNYC, the board of elders at Grace Community Church, Jacksonville provide additional counsel and accountability for Joey. Their involvement includes regular communication with Joey about the state of the church and shepherding situations.

The Biblical Call to a Plurality of Elders

We believe that the Bible gives us a clear picture of what the leadership of a God-honoring church should look like. The church should be led by a plurality of elders (Acts 20:17; Tit. 1:5; Heb. 13:17; 1Pet. 5:1) who are men who meet the qualifications laid out in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, and Titus 1:6-9. Our desire at GBCNYC is to have a second elder ordained as soon as the Lord would allow.
